ABOUT US

Rover’s Ranch is one of those places you need to see in person. Most people are surprised at the quality, cleanliness, and sheer size of the facility and yards. There is enough room to play and to roam without competing for space with the other dogs.

Rover's provides a fantastic experience for our furry guests. In every way possible the business has been designed to be appealing for dogs, and this shows in how they act when they arrive. They love our large, clean, and climate controlled facility, they love getting lots of love and attention from our knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff, and they love being a part of our carefully chosen pack.

The gigantic beautiful yards with grass, trees, stones, and doggy playground allow for hours of exercise, or relaxing and napping if that’s what they prefer. We aren’t here just to keep your dog safe while you’re away, we give them a vacation of their own!

We're always here

Rover’s is open 365 days a year, and our knowledgeable, energetic staff are here every day, all day and night. Dogs aren’t just our career, they’re our way of life!

The Ranch

Rover’s has been designed specifically with dogs in mind. It isn’t a repurposed industrial building, but a true home for dogs with the inviting feel of grandma’s house that sets our guests at ease. There are two large levels for the dogs to enjoy, with the upper level reflecting the style of a ranch and the lower level having the relaxed look and feel of a yoga studio. There is an over-abundance of couches, beds, blankets, and natural light so every dog can find comfort on their own terms. It is extremely clean without feeling sterile or clinical. The air is filtered and the water is purified because we’ve made it our goal to keep the environment as perfect as possible for our beloved guests.

With the recent upgrade of two gently sloping staircases it is also an accommodating second home to some wise elders. There is no shortage of space so the dogs don’t ever need to compete for it. It is also a stress-free environment, which means that your dog won’t need to endure excessive barking or unwanted attention from other dogs, which is especially important for seniors. Everyone just gets along and has a fantastic time together.

Open Concept - No Cages or Kennels

Well-managed kennels are an important resource for many dog owners because some dogs benefit from being in a separate space for much of the day. For dogs that don’t require this set-up, Rover’s is a welcome alternative. Our guests enjoy freedom to play with the other dogs and to spend their time where they want. There are no cages, and the dogs have free access to the outside via doggy doors. This approach is possible because of our insistence on only including dogs that fit well with the rest of the pack. We would not risk the safety of the pack by lowering these standards. Your dog will never be left in a kennel and your dog will not be lonely or bored. Your dog will not have to tolerate unwanted attention or compete for space. It’s just a safe, stress-free playdate with good friends.

Enrichment

Behavioural guidance, socialization, exercise, and the absence of stress all provide our guests with an atmosphere where their true personality can thrive. In the case of shy dogs we often get to watch them come out of their shell and realize their true “dogness”. We also encourage feedback and want clients to feel free to make special requests. We are happy to work with you whenever possible.

Facility and Yards

Think of it as a well-supervised dog park with free access between the building, the playground, and the different terrains of the gigantic yard. The grass area offers enough space to run and play without having to constantly go in circles to avoid fences, which also makes it great for games of fetch or tag. The large treed area is an ideal place for senior dogs to enjoy shade and nap on the cool white pebbles, or they might prefer to stay cool with our splash area and wading pools. On rainy days, they might decide to spend more time in the patio area enjoying the doggie playground. We have plenty of towels to dry them off when they choose to come inside. There is always plenty of fresh clean water outside, and a block of ice on hot days. The Rover’s team are also very quick with the scooper to keep the yard, and the dogs, as clean as possible. It is a beautiful environment for dogs, which matters a great deal.

Effective Supervision

It would be easy to let the dogs loose in the yard and just “let things go” but the easiest way often isn’t the right way. Not all dogs have the same level of energy or playing style and it would be negligent to take the lazy route. We ensure that smaller and older dogs are safe and happy. We praise good behaviours and discourage overly rough play, mounting, or excessive barking. A solid understanding of body language and dog play allows us to guide the pack and keep them playing in harmony. Most importantly, everyone here truly loves dogs and love our work, and the dogs notice!
